The NASEO-NARUC Training for States on Integrated Distribution System Planning 2.0: Planning for Electrification and Distributed Energy Resources will take place March 11-12, 2025, in Detroit, Michigan. This training will include an optional site visit on the morning of March 13. Details forthcoming.
These trainings are open to commissioners and staff of all public utility commissions, the directors and staff of State Energy Offices, and state consumer advocates. They are supported by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Electricity and Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
The National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO), National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory invite State Energy Offices, public utility commissions, and utility consumer advocates to participate in the second of three regional trainings on integrated distribution system planning. The content of the three trainings will be identical, and state participants are welcome to attend any one of them.
The training includes technical courses, peer-sharing, office hours with trainers, and a half-day state action planning workshop, covering all new topics with a focus on planning for electrification and distributed energy resources (see below for a list of topics). If you missed the 2023-24 trainings, please review the slides and recordings here. Please note, the 2023-2024 trainings are not a prerequisite for attending this training.
Technical content in the trainings will cover the following:
