On September 23, 2026, the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER) announced the launch of the Home Owner Managing Energy Savings (HOMES) Program. The $32 million program builds upon OER’s Clean Heat RI and New England Heat Pump Accelerator programs by providing heat pumps to income-eligible multifamily buildings. Buildings must have five or more units and at least 50 percent of occupants must have low incomes. The heat pumps are anticipated to achieve 20 percent energy savings per building.
