The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) announced an $18 million funding opportunity for Round Seven of its Next Generation Buildings Innovation Challenges. This opportunity will fund advanced building technology projects for clean heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), building envelopes, and controls. This round features a new challenge area to support development and commercialization of intelligent buildings control solutions that manage energy assets and electrical loads to advance decarbonization and electrification. NYSERDA specifically seeks to attract solutions that benefit low- to moderate-income and disadvantaged communities across New York State with some challenge areas targeting multifamily residential buildings.
